WHITE BOX is a placeholder for systemic and structural racism - the environments, interactions, and experiences people of color navigate on the daily basis. The backdrop of mugshots of officers (and others) who have killed Black men asks the audience to consider whether the officers live up to the definitions connoted by the "white" category – bringing into question words like "benevolent," "pure," and "untarnished.
