Inspired by a white supremacist rally turned riot in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2017. A decision made by a judge to remove a monument commemorating and celebrating figures from our countries confederate history from an African-American neighborhood resulted in a white nationalist march that became violent resulting in the death of a woman and the injury of 33 people.
Additional inspiration comes from the most recent government shut down where government employees were furloughed for months due to the inaction of congress (represented as a congress of Baboons) which led to a disruption in the lives of hundreds of thousands of families including low income families receiving SNAP benefits.
